We work hard to reduce our carbon footprint in all five of our Utah restaurants. We understand that restaurants are wasteful, and to make ours greener, we have earth-friendly initiatives to make a difference in our small corner of the world.
Here are a few of our initiatives:
Our Strawless Pledge
- We signed the Strawless SLC pledge for all of our locations over four years ago, which means that we don’t provide plastic straws in any of our locations. Still want a straw? We have a plastic alternative, Eco-Straw, a corn-oil based product that will compost when thrown away – ask for one!
Eco Lighting w/ LED Lights
- We reached out to the WattsSmart Program here in Utah. They give discounted rates to upgrade to LEDs. Which we did, since they use significantly less power, last longer, and are better for the environment.
- You can imagine how many glass bottles, cardboard, and cans we go through at all of our locations. We make a point of sending out these key recyclables so that they don’t end up in the trash.
- We’ve partnered with Momentum Recycling on a new program they launched recently. Up until now, food waste has been about 70% of our bins. Momentum Recycling now offers anaerobic composting for food waste – which means that it no longer goes to the landfill. We are proud to be early adopters here in Salt Lake City.
